Development of the DeXe Protocol began on September 18, 2019, founded by Yuriy Hotoviy and Dmitriy Kotliarov. The project originally launched as a “social investment” platform, enabling wallet-to-wallet copy trading without users needing to expose their private keys or wallet data.
-
September 28, 2020: the DEXE token officially launches.
-
Over the following years, the project's focus gradually shifted toward DAO infrastructure: DeXe DAO Studio is a no-code platform letting anyone create and manage a DAO, with customizable voting models, token delegation, and expert “sub-DAOs.”
-
2023: significant partnerships (e.g. with SwissBorg), and the introduction of cross-chain treasury management features.
-
2024: an expanding governance toolkit, with more advanced voting/delegation features.
-
2026: introduction of AI-based governance modules, amid growing institutional interest in DAO tooling.
The protocol itself is governed by the DeXe Protocol DAO — meaning DeXe governs itself using its own tool. The DEXE token*'*s primary function is governance (voting, proposals, treasury management), not serving as the native payment currency of a standalone blockchain.
